We are on the boundary of five district councils: South Kesteven, North Kesteven, Melton Borough, Newark & Sherwood and Rushcliffe. The map above has been produced to ‘join the dots’ across council boundaries, showing all the proposed wind energy developments within a few miles of Temple Hill. It brings home the degree to which this area is being targeted by wind developers (more info about the other local turbine applications here).
Our region is known as the ‘Gateway to Lincolnshire’ – this wouldn’t be a great advert for the rest of the county!
We’ve seen in other areas of the country that applications to extend existing wind farms or build more quickly follow once planning approval for one operation has been granted.
The Temple Hill proposal is therefore not just a matter for residents of Brandon, Stubton, Hough on the Hill and other nearby villages and settlements. The decision at Temple Hill could establish a far greater and more ominous precedent for further development in the Grantham and Newark region.
Don’t leave it until it’s too late to get involved. Next It Might Be You!
